Ever wondered what an Interior Designer does? This is one of the most asked questions from clients that first give us a call. For most (if not all) of our clients, employing an interior designer is a first for them, as well as can seem quite daunting. We are here to put your mind at ease!
So, what do we do exactly? Other than transforming your home and creating something only seen in your dreams, we make your life that much easier by taking out the stress of it all for you.

When your home is just needing those few little extra pieces to put it all together to create a cohesive inviting space, our interior design service is just what you need!
From as little as re-configuring your existing furniture and homewares to give them a new lease on life, or hitting the shops to find the perfect final pieces, we are here to guide you and make your house a home.
From furnishings and material selections to interior architectural planning, we imbue each space with the owner’s unique style and personality.
We not only create breathtaking design concepts, but we do the hard work behind that scenes to bring those ideas/concepts to fruition. We spend tireless hours behind the scenes pulling all sorts of strings to make the magic happen. We have an array of trade only suppliers that we deal with to source individual pieces that you won’t see in your un of the mill stores. We then compile our ideas onto moodboards for you to show you exactly what our vision is. I bet you’re asking what’s a moodboard? Well, it’s a coalition of furniture pieces and decor items shown together to show you what we are suggesting for your space.
Once you’re happy with our ideas/suggestions, we then get cracking on brining our ideas to life by placing all relevant orders and getting everything ready for us to install into your home or space.
You sit back, relax and wait for the magic to enter your home. Nothing else for you to do! How good is that!? It may sound too good to be true. But that’s really how it works, especially with us – we can’t speak for others of course 😉

Give us a call to discuss what it is your are needing help with. We will talk you through our processes and should you feel we’re the right fit, we’ll book in your initial consultation.
02 / Understanding your thoughts
At Ivy + Finch, we love getting to know our clients and what makes them tick.
It’s all starts over a cup of tea (or coffee) and we get to know you and what your home is about. A home should be a place that is functional without feeling precious about things, and yet pleasing to the eye. Let us help you make your house a home.
At our initial consultation (which is $320 includes GST, and takes anything between 1 and 3 hours) we will go through your home in detail, to ensure it reflects you and your family once we are done. Sometimes, this involves us moving around your existing furniture to give you the best layout or use of space with what you have in the mean time. We like to get involved from the very start!
03 / It’s in the design
What’s next? We will advise you of a design fee, based on the scale of your project. Once you accept, we get cracking. This fee involves us creating 3D scale floor plans, furniture layout, paint and design schedules, as well as mood boards curated just for you, as well as liaising with all our trades (or yours) should the project require it.
